About

Most recently, I was a Content Lead and Researcher at the USC Institute for Creative Technologies with the virtual humans team, researching virtual human fidelity and designing character narratives and interactions for AI virtual humans. In the fall of 2022, I was an adjunct faculty member at the University of Washington in the College of Education.

I’m a lifelong learner, with a passion for storytelling and creating authentic, moving learning experiences at the intersection of education and immersive technology and media.

During undergrad and shortly after, I was a catering chef, where I honed my cooking skills and laughed harder at work than I thought possible. My grandparents are from Hawai’i, so it’s no surprise that in my free time I love to cook and dance hula. Some of my favorite recipes I’ve made are black garlic kimchi and chashu pork ramen!

Hi I'm Sarah, nice to meet you! I'm a learning designer, storyteller, and immersive experience designer born and raised in Seattle, WA.

I have a background in emerging technology, education, and learning design, with a bachelors degree from the University of Washington in Education, Communities, and Organizations and Ed.M. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, in the Learning Design, Innovation, and Technology program.
